![]() The Baron and Baroness of Calafia Their Excellencies Oliver and Kate DogberryWitam, Calafia! War is upon us! Gather your kin and friends. Strap on your armor and string your bow. Set your banners fluttering upon your tent and stir the campfires. Search the shops for that perfect bargain and attend the classes being taught under the trees. Dance with friends old and new, then sing along with the bards telling stories true. Share your time in service to help run the War. Gather together a lifetime of memories so you will be able to say THIS is the Dream we live for. We hope that you can join us at war. This will be our last war as Baron & Baroness, and we will be investing our Reeve & Reevess at Court on Sunday. It is an exciting time for the Barony as we start another chapter in our history.April was a month filled with events. St. Artemas showed us that students are never satisfied with what they have, and they always seem to have money for bread that they waste as ammunition in an attempt to get attention. Perhaps next year they will focus on the correct ‘dough’ to contribute to the Barony. Starkhafn anniversary was a pleasant time for us, and our first visit to our Cousins of Dun Or for their anniversary was a bacon-palooza including the experimental white chocolate bacon fudge. We ended the month at our own Summergate’s anniversary with a day of spears and a German style lunch, in a park with cool ocean breezes. We look forward to the month of May where we will first visit with our Cousins of Altavia for their Pearl anniversary, before heading off to Potrero War. After war, we will be attending Coronation we will bid a sad farewell to Their Royal Majesties Mansur and Eilidh in what was a totally too short a timeframe, but one that is in keeping with the philosophy of Hans Badger… We will watch as Their Royal Highnesses Sven Örfhendur and Countess Cassandra Zoë Paganel step up to be our new Rulers over the magnificent Kingdom of Caid. The Curia was well attended, and the questions asked were pertinent and insightful in their answering. We ask that you now send us your thoughts and observations on the couples. Please send those to us before May 8th, which will give Kate & I one meager week to absorb your input before we make our decision. We plan on announcing the chosen couple at Counsel on the 15th, and then investing them at War. We hope that you will bear with us over the next several months, as we continue to work through the process of selecting our replacements. The Vote of Confidence for the chosen couple will occur in the September/October timeframe; and more information on that will be announced in the coming months.
Until we met again within the Dream, we remain Yours in Service.
