Witam, Calafia!

We hope that your holiday season was wondrous and filled with warmth. It is time to sit back and reflect on what has happened over the last year. There are so many memories for us that bring a smile to my face, and a few that make me sad. But overall the past year has been one where we have spent time with friends and shared a few laughs.

We had a fantastic time at Winter Arts and are happy with both our Artisan and Bard of Calafia. The food was yummy, the displays amazing, the bards endearing, and the friendship warming.

January promises to be a busy month, starting with Calafia hosting 12th night for the Kingdom, including what should be a scrumptious feast. Angels Melee has been restructured as Queen's Champion where I hope to do well upon the Rapier field. We will also witness the investiture of a new Baron & Baroness of Angels. We will travel to Gyldenholt for Unbelted to watch our Armored fighters. And we will end the month at one of our favorite events -Pol Na Gainmhe Anniversary where the flamingos cavort.

The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) is a not-for-profit, educational, and historical organization dedicated to reliving and recreating the Middle Ages, as they should have been, from approximately the latter Roman era to 1650 A.D. We seek to learn about the beauty and chivalry of our past and to share with others the wonders of medieval Europe. We re-create the fun parts, like the feasts, costumes & sword fighting...
...but leave out the parts like plagues, lice and beheadings!

The society is divided into kingdoms and the kingdoms are subdivided into baronies based on geographic location.
Calafia is one of the founding baronies in Kingdom of Caid located in Southern California
and comprises San Diego and Imperial counties.
